It takes a few minutes and is entirely automated. Speaking of Windows, uninstalling Office on it is a simple matter of opening Programs & Features from the Control Panel and removing the application there. Office 2016 for Mac better resembles the Windows version, which will likely please switchers. The new version of Office by contrast is clean and much more Office-looking. Yes, it gets the job done but the interface is a mess and downright ugly.
It’s just never felt like a real OS X application, or even a decent version of Office. It’s no great mystery why we’d want to uninstall Office 2011. The new version of Microsoft Outlook will import your email from the old version, but it can only do so if you’ve left the old version installed. Leave the old version installed and install the new one. Update: There’s no need to uninstall an old version of Office for Mac before installing a new one. Much to our surprise, uninstalling Office 2011 for Mac is a terribly complicated affair. We decided to give it a whirl and wanted uninstall Office 2011 to avoid any conflicts. I found some in the system- and user-caches, as well as in /private/var/folders, if you really want all traces gone, you'll have to track those down as well.Microsoft has been readying its latest update to Office for Mac, and recently released its first preview. In your System Library: /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft AutoUpdate.app Some of the directories have spaces in their names, make sure to type those spaces with a leading backslash, if you use rm -Rf to remove those! You should remove those folders to completely remove the application and all it's traces. Microsoft Auto Update had 19 files on macOS in multiple directories, after I'd already removed it from ~/Library/Containers. On macOS Mojave 10.14.1, this is what I found:
